The Alachua County Republican Executive Committee is the governing body of the Republican Party in Alachua County, Florida. The committee is made up of one, two or three precinct committeemen and committeewomen (depending on the precinct size) from each precinct.
Any Republican may apply to join the Republican Executive Committee as long as their precinct is not already filled. The requirements to join include attending a meeting and making an application at that meeting and then attending two consecutive meetings, after that. Requirements also include attending an orientation and an interview with the membership committee, and state law requires that you have been a registered Republican for a year..
The Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are then elected by the precinct committeemen and committeewomen to run the day-to-day operations of the Republican Executive Committee.
The State Committeeman and the State Committeewoman are elected at large by registered Republicans, in the county, during the primary election every four years.
The Chairman, the Vice-Chairman, the Secretary and the Treasurer, along with the State Committeeman and the State Committeewoman make up the Executive Board of the Alachua County Republican Executive Committee.
The Chairman, the State Committeeman and the State Committeewoman are the voting members of the Republican Party of Florida.
