On February 28th is the run-off election for the Gainesville City Commission, and there are several ways to vote:

Early Voting:
Early voting is open through Sunday at the County Administration Building (12 SE 1st Street).

Absentee / Vote By Mail:
You can still request an absentee ballot by calling 352-374-5252.  There needs to be enough time to get your ballot and return it.  If you haven't requested an absentee ballot by Wednesday, February 22nd, we recommend voting early or precinct voting on election day.

Election Day Precinct Voting:
On February 28th, polls are open from 7 am to 7 pm in the City of Gainesville.  Click here for a link to a list of polling places from the Supervisor of Elections website.

Candidates:
There are two candidates in this race.  Lauren poe has been a city commissioner and was voted out by the voters in his precinct.  Nathan Skop has a history of service, including a Governor's appointment to the Florida Public Service Commission.  His experience with power issues make him the right person to understand, address and help mitigate the huge risks that the current Gainesville Commission took by building a risky biomass plant.

We recommend Nathan Skop.
